Metro’s transit oriented development program purchased a 1.07 acre parcel at the corner of 170th and Baseline Road near the Beaverton Elmonica MAX station in 2018. In 2020, Metro partnered with the City of Beaverton to release a solicitation for a development team to build new affordable housing on the property. A review committee selected a team led by REACH CDC to develop the site.
REACH, together with Bienestar, Colas Construction and Salazar Architects, will create 81 apartments ranging from studios to 3-bedrooms. In addition to homes for low and very-low income households, REACH’s project includes outdoor amenities, play structures and a walking loop, as well as a community pantry operated in partnership with the Oregon Food Bank.
