The Investment Advisory Board advises Metro on investment strategies, banking relationships, the legality and probity of investment activities and the establishment of written procedures for the investment operations.

The Metro Code and Investment Policy created the Metro Investment Advisory Board. The IAB has three primary duties:

meet quarterly to review Metro’s investment activities for the previous year and ensure compliance with the investment policy
conduct an annual review of Metro’s system of written internal controls
recommend revisions to Metro’s investment policy prior to its adoption by the Metro Council.

IAB members provide advice and recommendations to Metro staff and Metro’s outside investment management contractor.

Membership

The IAB has five members and terms are subject to the provisions of Metro Code Chapter 2.19.

Meeting schedule

The IAB meets quarterly on a schedule determined by staff and committee members.
