Over the past several decades, Metro funded transportation projects throughout the 24 cities and three counties to make up the Portland metropolitan area. Funded projects have included building new sidewalks, upgrading bicycle lanes, filling in missing segments of multi-use trails, rose lanes bus projects, and building industrial area access roads.
Past recipients have used regional flexible funds to create safer street crossings at transit stops and connect tails for biking and walking, among many other projects.
The Trolley Trail is a multi-use path that stretches six miles from the city of Milwaukie to the city of Gladstone near the joining of the Willamette and Clackamas Rivers. The trail consists largely of off-streets paths with about half a mile of the trail utilizing local roads.
