The Metro Council heard the COO deliver Metro's Proposed Budget for FY 2013-14 on April 25. Council approved the proposed budget on May 2, 2013 without change. Metro’s approved budget for FY 2013-14 is provided in two volumes. The first volume SUMMARY presents the proposed budget in sections designed to provide an understanding of how the budget is developed, its primary revenues and expenditures, and how these resources are applied to programs and activities. Many readers will find Volume 1 sufficient to gain an understanding of Metro’s financial strategies for the coming year. Some readers may require additional detail which can be found in the second volume DETAIL.
The budget includes all major operating functions of Metro: Visitor Venues (Oregon Convention Center, Oregon Zoo, Portland Center for the Performing Arts and Portland Expo Center), Planning and Development, Research Center, Parks and Environmental Services and Sustainability Center. Also included are elected and administrative functions of Office of the Council, Office of the Auditor, Office of Metro Attorney, Finance and Regulatory Services, Information Services, Human Resources and Communications.
