On May 19, 2020, voters in greater Portland approved a measure that would raise money for supportive housing services for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness. The Metro Council has appointed the Tri-County Planning Body to help create goals, strategies and metrics, and guide a regional investment fund to address homelessness across the region. The group does not replace community-centered local implementation plans, but helps the program be as effective as possible by coordinating across the region.
The Tri-County Planning Body meets monthly through July 2023 in preparation for developing a regional plan as identified in the Supportive Housing Services work plan and counties’ implementation plans.
Public testimony will not be received at this onboarding meeting, though the public is welcome to attend and observe.
