A Columbia black-tailed deer forages within Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area in North Portland. The wetlands is almost completely surrounded by industrial businesses, but does connect to other habitat through wildlife corridors.
Walking through quiet woods, have you ever wondered "Where are all the animals?" This class will walk participants through a guided hike that focuses on the signs around us to show that even a quiet trail is still teeming with life. Meet at Alder shelter.

Pet policy: To protect plants, wildlife and people, Metro does not allow pets at most regional parks and natural areas. Pets can damage sensitive habitat and threaten wildlife the region has worked to protect. In natural areas where dogs are not allowed, people see more wildlife and get closer to it. Seeing-eye dogs or other service animals are allowed. Please bring cleanup materials.
