Metro owns land on SW Barbur near SW Capital Highway in Portland, formerly Portland Value Inn. The site is currently operated as an emergency shelter by Multnomah County, and will be redeveloped into new affordable housing in partnership with Portland Housing Bureau.
Early phase community engagement, in partnership with SW Equity Coalition, will occur through spring/summer 2022, and the project will be included in Portland Housing Bureau’s funding solicitation in fall 2022. From this competitive process a developer will be selected in fall/winter 2022.
