Columbia Pioneer Cemetery

At nearly 2.5 acres, Columbia Pioneer Cemetery is a green oasis at busy Northeast Sandy Boulevard and 99th Avenue in Portland’s Parkrose neighborhood. While cars pass by, inside it’s a peaceful neighborhood green space enjoyed by many.
Douglass Cemetery

Amidst wide swaths of lawn, a grove of Douglas firs offers a woodland feel and a beautiful place for reflection. At 9.1 acres of lawn and forest, Douglass is one of Metro’s larger cemeteries.

Mountain View Corbett Cemetery

With stunning views of Mount Hood and the Washington Cascades, this rural 2-acre cemetery occupies a small grassy rise surrounded by vegetable farms, vineyards and orchards in Corbett.
Pleasant Home Cemetery

This 2-acre rural cemetery has a pastoral feel reminiscent of the pioneer era. Located at Bluff and Pleasant Home roads in Gresham, burial plots are on the north end of the cemetery; the south end slopes to beautiful forest along Johnson Creek.
Powell Grove Cemetery

This 1-acre refuge within a large traffic circle is a green remnant of a rural past. Located at Northeast 122nd Avenue at Sandy Boulevard, an early market road to Portland, the cemetery is the final resting place for members of the Powell and Reynolds families, early settlers of what is now Portland’s Parkrose neighborhood.

Brainard Cemetery

Brainard’s open, airy 1.1 acres perch on a hillcrest in Portland’s Montavilla neighborhood. With plenty of sunshine and views of Rocky Butte Natural Area and Mount Saint Helens, the cemetery has a parklike feel.
Escobar Cemetery

This tiny niche of history, only a half acre in size, is a quiet refuge on historic Johnson Creek in Gresham. Adjacent to the Springwater Corridor Trail, Escobar Cemetery receives many visits from walkers and bikers who are drawn to its quiet beauty and monuments.
Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery

On a peaceful hillside in the woods of Southwest Portland, this 3-acre cemetery takes visitors back to the Victorian era. Graves are laid out in a formal, semi-circular pattern in a patchwork of open lawn and scattered trees.
Gresham Pioneer Cemetery

With its setting by Johnson Creek and the Springwater Corridor trail, this wooded cemetery has a peaceful, intimate feel, removed from busy roads. Bikers and walkers from the trail often stop to read the tombstones, learn a bit about Gresham history and admire the many old trees.
Jones Cemetery

Hidden in Portland’s Sylvan neighborhood, this 3.5-acre green jewel perches high on a south-facing hill, with open lawns and views across the Tualatin Valley to the Chehalem Mountains. The cemetery’s northern portion is sheltered under a thick canopy of trees with beautiful walking paths.
Mountain View Stark Cemetery

This .75-acre parklike space is a mix of lawn and mature Douglas firs, and is often used by neighbors for walking and reflection. The cemetery sits on a bluff on the north side of historic Southeast Stark Street, east of Southwest 257th Avenue in Gresham.
Multnomah Park Cemetery

Nine acres of tall trees, paths and historic monuments make Multnomah Park Cemetery a pleasant place to walk and discover Portland history. Located at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Holgate Boulevard, Multnomah Park is in Portland’s Foster-Powell neighborhood.
White Birch Cemetery

Scenic White Birch Cemetery features graves of early Japanese immigrants and their families, and many beautiful old monuments. It is one of three pioneer cemeteries along Johnson Creek in Gresham.
