The cemetery is named for Frank Escobar, who arrived in Gresham around 1902. It was established in 1914 and acquired by Multnomah County in 1957. Escobar died in 1946 and is buried in neighboring Forest Lawn Cemetery, across the Springwater Trail.
Escobar Cemetery is close to two other Metro cemeteries: Gresham Pioneer Cemetery immediately adjacent, and White Birch Cemetery across Walters Road.
Escobar Cemetery is closed to new burial sales.
During inclement weather, please check oregonmetro.gov/cemeteries for information about any closures.
