Description of facility and application
K.B. Recycling, Inc. submitted an application to Metro to renew its solid waste facility license to operate a facility that accepts and processes construction and demolition debris to recover recyclable materials. K.B. Recycling’s current license (No. L-007-17) authorizes the facility to accept construction and demolition waste which is processed to recover recyclable materials such as wood, metal, and cardboard. The facility also accepts and processes source-separated recyclables and operates a public recycling depot.
K.B. Recycling has operated as a Metro-licensed facility since 2002. Waste Connections Inc., headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, acquired K.B. Recycling in October 2021. The facility has not proposed any changes to its current operation.
The property is zoned Light Industrial and the proposed use is conditionally allowed in this zone by Clackamas County. The facility holds a Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Solid Waste Disposal Permit and a 1200-Z Industrial Stormwater Discharge Permit.
A copy of the license application can be downloaded from the link below. If approved, the renewed license would take effect on July 1, 2022 and remain in effect for five years.
