The Office of the Metro Auditor released its Annual Report for FY2014-15 today. The report includes two new performance measures; audit hours per department expenditure and results of surveys of audited programs. Eight audits were completed during the year. One of them was a follow-up on the recommendations contained in the 2012 Natural Areas Maintenance audit.
Highlights for the year were:
- The number of audits completed per full-time equivalent employee increased.
- Reports to the Accountability Hotline were resolved in a timely fashion.
- The Office had a smooth transition to the new auditor who took office in January 2015.
The Annual Report is an opportunity for the Office to demonstrate its values of accountability, transparency, efficiency and effectiveness. “Continuous improvement is a common theme in the recommendations contained in audit reports,” said Metro Auditor Brian Evans. “This report is a way to apply that same approach to our own efforts.”
The Office is finishing audits of Metro’s Nature in Neighborhoods program and Community Development and Planning grants. Audits of the Oregon Zoo, social media, Glendoveer Golf Course and Convention Center Hotel are scheduled to begin later this fiscal year.
