This is part of the Let's Talk Trash event series.
Each American, on average, generates 102 tons of trash in a lifetime. In his book, "Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair With Trash," Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edward Humes investigates the trail of that trash – what’s in it, how much we pay for it, how we manage to create so much of it, and how some families, communities and even nations are finding a way back from waste to discover a new kind of prosperity.
Humes will join local trash experts from Portland State University and Metro to engage audiences in discussions about the themes and issues presented in his book.
