Interested in trails? Each year in mid-September, Metro and partner agencies count people using regional trails in order to collect data that is used for transportation planning and grant applications. Volunteers are needed to conduct the counts. Learn more at a required orientation session 4:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 28 before hitting local trails on Sept. 10 to 12 and 14 and 15 to help conduct the 12th annual regional trail counts.
The counts rely on local partners and volunteers to count at sites spread throughout the region. In 2017, 241 volunteers counted more than 45,000 trail users at 125 sites across the region. With your help, we can staff even more count sites this year and count more people!
Free. All ages, though counters under 16 require a parent/guardian.
