Learning Landscapes will host a tour of some of Portland’s nature play parks. The tour will include stops at nature play areas in the Portland Metro area. Groups who are involved in the design and planning of parks will be invited to attend. David Bond will be invited to talk about play parks in the UK and provide any feedback he has on promoting and improving play spaces in Portland.
Who should attend?
This tour of nature play spaces will be appropriate for professionals, educators, parents, designers, and recreation providers that are interested in how to implement natural areas for play and learning. It will offer specific information to anyone that is on board with the concept of getting kids outside to play and all the associated benefits. But, who may have tried to get kids outside and have found; a small backyard, a park with only lawn and playground equipment or a restoration area with no off trail use. We hope to offer ideas and inspire people who are moved to action and looking for successful examples that they can emulate.
