It can generate electricity and provide alternative energy to reduce our consumption of fossil fuels. There are interesting possibilities for what we can do with our trash, and Metro wants to engage the public in discussions about what we want our garbage to do for us.
Professor Marco J. Castaldi at City College, City University of New York is a national expert on different ways to get more out of the waste we generate. He leads a team of engineers who are researching new and emerging technologies to capture more energy from garbage. He will present information and engage the audience in a discussion about the pros and cons of different approaches.
