Enjoy your next company picnic or family gathering in a reservable picnic area at Blue Lake Regional Park.

Reservations for 2010

You can reserve a picnic are at Blue Lake for 2010 beginning Oct. 1, 2009. Call 503-665-4995 and leave a message. Requests are taken in the order received.

Thinking of having a gathering at Metro's Blue Lake Regional Park? To find the perfect spot for your group, consider the following questions:

  • How large is your group?
  • Do you want a simple group of tables under the trees, an area with a canopy or a wooden shelter?
  • Do you want to be able to drink alcohol? See policy below
  • Do you want to use amplified sound? See policy below
  • Do you want to hire a professional caterer or amusements? See options below

Reservations for Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays are priced according to the "weekend fees" in the table below; reservations for non-holiday Mondays through Fridays are charged the "weekday fee."

First-come, first-served sites

There are clusters of picnic tables in 10 areas along the shore of the lake that are free to use on a "first-come, first-served" basis. They are ideal for small impromptu gatherings. (If you have 25 people or more, you must reserve a picnic area.)

Alcohol

Alcohol is allowed in designated areas by permit only. For more information, call Sue Lowe at 503-665-4995 or send e-mail to susan.lowe@oregonmetro.gov.

Catering

You are welcome to have your event catered by one of the companies on the approved catering list as long as you and your caterer do not sell food or beverages on park property...View approved caterers

Amusements

You are welcome to have amusements at your event (e.g. clowns, inflatable games, etc.) provided by one of the companies on the approved amusement providers list...View approved amusement providers

Softball fields

Each reservation includes two hours on a softball field, which will be scheduled when you make your reservation. Additional hours determined on a "first come, first served" basis during unscheduled hours on day of picnic.

Amplified music or public address systems

You also must obtain a special-use permit (no charge) from the reservation office to use amplified sound. Amplified sound can be used only in the following areas:

  • all of Shahala Shelter (A and B) all of Clatsop Shelter (A and B)
  • all of Multnomah Shelter (A, B, C and D)
  • Chinook Shelter and all of Areas 17-19
  • Celilo Shelter and all of Areas 11-14

Sports equipment

We have a limited number of items available on a "first-come, first-served" basis at no charge. We only require the exchange of a valid driver's license for the equipment (volleyballs, horseshoes, basketballs, softballs and bats).

Park entry fees

There is a park entry fee of $5 per motorized vehicle on all days and $7 per bus on all days. This fee is in addition to the reservation fees.
