Three times in the last two decades, voters across the Portland metropolitan area have invested in a network of regional parks, trails and natural areas – a calling card for both residents and businesses.
Please join the Metro Council at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10 at Mt. Hood Community College in the Town and Gown Room, to hear about the investments that we are making in our parks, trails and natural areas – that will help shape the future of "our big backyard."
- At the meeting, we will be talking about how regional parks and natural areas are getting healthier, safer and more fun one year into a voter-approved levy, and meeting more than two dozen groups receiving Nature in Neighborhoods grants to nurture nature in their communities.
- There will be opportunities to weigh in on the kick-off a major vision plan for Metro's regional parks and natural areas for decades to come, learn about a new regional trails map and a blueprint for the Mt. Scott/Scouter Mountain regional trail, and join Metro's new Youth Ecology Corps for a tour of Beavercreek natural area, right next door to the college.
- Please stay for a post-meeting reception with treats, lemonade and iced tea.
The Metro Council Meeting is 1:30-5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10 (formal council meeting begins at 2 p.m.).
