Metro is required to document funded projects scheduled to use federal funds over the next four years. The current cycle is documented in the 2024-27 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program.
Metro is in receipt of the proposed MTIP formal amendments:
The purpose of this amendment is to complete the required transition actions to the new 2024-27 MTIP. Subject to revisions to address comments received during the public comment period, the 2021-24 MTIP as revised by the proposed amendment will be the final program unless amended, and a final notice will not be published. This amendment adds nine new projects and updates two existing projects to enable the required federal fund obligations to occur:
- Beaverton School District electric vehicle chargers: purchase and install electric wall-mount chargers
- 181st Avenue safety upgrades from Southeast Stark Street to East Burnside Street: new traffic signals, adding/upgrade sidewalks, buffered bike lane, lighting and utility upgrades for greater pedestrian safety
- Transportation System Management and Operations/Intelligent Transportation System 2020: provide funding to support strategic and collaborative program management including coordination of activities for the TransPort TSMO committee
- TSMO/ITS 2021: provide strategic and collaborative program management including coordination of activities for the TransPort TSMO committee
- TSMO PORTAL regional archived data service 2023: maintain and enhance the TSMO PORTAL archive and database to gather and evaluate TSMO data from new sensors and networks, clean data and provide assessment of existing and future TSMO investment areas
- Oregon Route 141 (Southwest Hall Boulevard) from Southwest Spruce Street to Southwest Hemlock Street: provide two enhanced pedestrian crossings along Hall to improve the visibility of pedestrians crossing the street and encouraging people to use these crossings to walk to parks and schools in the immediate area
- Interstate 84 multi-use path from the Jordan Road Tunnel to the Sandy River Delta: design and construct a multi-use path parallel to Jordan Road from the pedestrian tunnel to Sandy River Delta increasing pedestrian safety and bike access
- Oregon City quiet zone: establish a railroad quiet zone in Oregon City for added pedestrian safety to foster prosperous economic transformation and support housing and business development
- Burgard Bridge resiliency and multimodal enhancements project: replace/reconstruct existing Burgard Bridge over Union Pacific Railroad, plus culvert, and include bicycle/pedestrian upgrades for safer freight and pedestrian movements
- 122nd Avenue safety upgrades from Sandy Boulevard to Foster Road: employ safety treatments including pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, adding medians, bus stop curb extensions, signal upgrades, lighting, landscaping and a roundabout
- TriMet transit center electric vehicle chargers: purchase and install electric chargers at the Powell bus garage and the Beaverton Transit Center
