Employees in full-time, budgeted positions and those who qualify under the Affordable Care Act are eligible for health and welfare benefits. Benefits for eligible employees become effective the first day of the month following their hire date.
Health insurance
Metro provides comprehensive health insurance options including medical, dental and vision insurance. Eligible employees may choose benefits from four medical plans and two dental plans. Employee contributions to health insurance premiums are made with pre-tax deductions.
Medical care flexible spending account
Metro sponsors a flexible spending account program, which allows you to defer salary into an account to pay for eligible medical expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Wellness programs
Employees can access health coaches and other support to meet lifestyle, nutrition and exercise goals. Metro provides discounts for fitness centers, yoga and alternative medicine services.
Employee assistance program
Metro offers confidential and convenient access to professional counseling, legal consultation and work/life services to help employees and their families.
Paid vacation, holidays and sick leave
In addition to vacations and sick leave, Metro provides Oregon Sick Child Leave, pregnancy and maternity leave, bereavement, family medical leave and workers compensation and ADA accommodation.
Paid parental leave
Metro provides eight weeks of paid leave for every Metro employee welcoming a child to their family. All employees who have worked for Metro for more than 180 days are eligible. For variable hour employees, the eight weeks of leave will be pro-rated based on a look back of their average weekly hours.

Metro employees can put pre-tax dollars into a flexible spending account to help cover dependent care costs.

MetroKids Child Development Center is located in the Metro Regional Center. Metro employees are prioritized for enrollment.

Metro offers financial workshops throughout the year on topics such as debt management, budgeting, home buying and more as well as first-time home buying support and credit union membership. Employees can opt for direct deposit into personal checking or savings accounts or the Oregon College Savings Plan.

To comply with the 2021 Federal Consolidated Appropriations Act, Regence maintains machine-readable files regarding in-network and out-of-network provider reimbursement amounts for company-sponsored health plans.
