Aluminum
Clean all containers
Appliances
Metal dishwashers, water heaters, clothes dryers, stoves only; no plastic appliances (accepted as garbage, not for recycling)
Scrap metal
Most metal items accepted for recycling: nonferrous (not magnetic) electrical wiring and other items that are at least 96-percent aluminum, copper, brass and other metals that will not stick to a magnet
Most metal wire fencing is not accepted for recycling. Neatly rolled cyclone fencing that is not contaminated with other materials is OK. Limit of a half-pickup truck bed or less per load.
Gas-powered lawn mowers (does not include riding lawn mowers) must be drained of all oil and gasoline.
Batteries
Automobile and other lead-acid batteries (secure leaking batteries in leak-proof containers). No forklift batteries accepted.
Cardboard
Corrugated (wavy layer between two flat layers); brown paper grocery bags
Glass bottles and jars
Rinse and sort by color, recycle caps with tin cans
Magazines and catalogs
Motor oil and antifreeze
Limited to 20 gallons per customer, per day; must be in 5-gallon or smaller unbreakable containers with screw-on lids.
Newspaper
No strings or paper bags
Plastic film
Includes shrink wrap, pallet wrap, shopping bags, Tyvek, dry cleaner bags and bubble wrap
Plastic milk jugs, bottles
With neck or threaded opening – remove lids, rinse, flatten
Plastic tubs
Containers for yogurt, cottage cheese, salsa, margarine, etc.; cat litter and laundry detergent buckets; recycle tubs and buckets in the same bin as plastic bottles and jars; plastic lids and plastic handles are OK
Scrap paper
Includes junk mail, cereal boxes, etc.
Tin cans
Electronics
Computer CPUs, monitors, televisions and laptops are accepted for free to anyone bringing seven or fewer items at one time.
