Our region needs new ideas to meet our transportation infrastructure needs. The integrated mobility strategy that the Blue Ribbon Committee for Trails recommended to the Metro Council – and the region – is an exciting and powerful new idea that addresses congestion, climate change, fuel costs and the current lack of funding for traditional transportation projects.
Relatively small investments in trails and other connections for bikes and pedestrians could put us on a path to a new kind of transportation network that is earth and community friendly – and that is financially feasible.
