Starting with the closure of the St. Johns Landfill and transfer of Multnomah County’s parks and cemeteries, Metro has evolved into a major landowner and manager. With the voter-approved acquisition of natural areas, Metro has dramatically increased the region’s portfolio of publicly owned land. The types of properties owned and/or managed by Metro include:
