Rising housing costs and stagnant wages have led to a housing crisis and increased homelessness. Thanks to voters, funds are now available to support housing access and stability for people across greater Portland.
In its first year, the supportive housing services resource will provide for:
- new outreach teams connecting 2,000 people with mental health and housing resources
- 700 new shelter beds
- stability for 2,400 people in permanent housing
- an expanded network of culturally specific and other service providers
- consistent regional data and regularly updated visuals.
