Metro’s distance learning page hosts a full library of online resources to help students learn about recycling, waste reduction, climate change and sustainability.
Presentations last about 50 minutes and are delivered to individual classrooms. Each engagement includes activities and interactive discussions about how to build healthy relationships with people and the natural world. Lessons are aligned with state standards for science and social studies, delivered by trained classroom educators and offered free of charge.
Stuff to Storms: Consumer Goods and Climate Impacts (2-day series)
Two presentations, delivered no more than one week apart, invite students to think critically about our system of stuff and the connection between resource consumption and climate disruption. Classrooms will explore a wealth of individual and collective actions to make our system more sustainable using a lens of hope, equity, community resilience and waste prevention.
