Metro has convened a subcommittee to evaluate the organization’s connections with policing, security and the use of incarcerated labor.
The Metro-wide review will report on all touch points and their associated needs, working with department leads across the organization. A decision-making framework will then be developed to provide guidance on the range of issues raised in the review, with input from partners, community members, Metro’s Committee on Racial Equity, Metro staff, the Metro Council and others.
The decision-making framework will then be used to generate a suite of actions to bring Metro closer to its vision and values. A Metro-wide workplan will outline the necessary actions, assign responsibilities and timelines and develop a system for accountable implementation.
