This infographic shows an overview of the race/ethnicity, gender, and age demographics of individuals at Metro who experienced a promotion or job reclassification by fiscal year.
A promotion is the advancement to a classification in a higher pay range. Typically, an employee must apply and be selected for a promotion (making it different than a reclassification).
A reclassification is an official change to the classification of a position due to an ongoing business need. Typically, reclassifications are upward; however, positions may also be reclassified downward or laterally. Reclassifications differ from promotion, demotion or transfer in that the employee is not being assigned to a different position; rather, the position is being assigned to a different classification.
