Description of facility and application

SORT Bioenergy, LLC submitted an application to Metro to operate an anaerobic digester that will process food waste to produce electricity. The proposed facility will be co-located with Willamette Resources, Inc., a Metro franchised transfer station in Wilsonville. The facility proposes to accept 65,000 tons of solid and liquid food waste annually. All activities will take place in an enclosed building with an approved odor control system. Oregon Department of Environmental Quality will hold a public hearing to discuss the proposed facility and accept comments from the public. The hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on November 17, 2016, in the Wilsonville Public Library located at 8200 SW Wilsonville Road, Wilsonville, OR 97070.
