Metro is accepting applications Aug. 5 through Oct. 7 at noon. Community Placemaking grants support community-led, equity-centered, arts and culture based efforts that strengthen people’s connections to each other and places they care about. Up to $200,000 in grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 will be awarded for the 2023 cycle. No matching funds are required.
Strong proposals are grounded in racial equity and address a critical community challenge or opportunity. The program seeks to listen to community and fund their ideas for solutions to specific challenges. Many past Community Placemaking grants have focused on healing and restoration, and every community has different needs that require different approaches. Take a look at the kinds of efforts selected in recent grant cycles in 2022 and 2021. Applications are reviewed by a panel made up of people of color working at the intersection of arts and culture and social justice.
Grant awards will be announced in early January 2023, and grant funded activities can take place March 2023 through June 2024.
