An update to the Public Involvement Policy for Transportation Planning reflects changes in the most recent federal transportation authorization act, the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21). A 45-day public comment period took place in 2013. Over 1,400 comments were received from across the region helped shape the final guide.
Procedures detailed in the guide include outreach to communities underserved by transportation projects, public notices and opportunities for comment. The policies also include nondiscrimination standards that Metro, its subcontractors and all local governments must meet when developing or implementing projects that receive funding through Metro.
