2020-21 Programming
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Metro's education outreach team is not offering in-person programming. Connect with Jamie Repasky to inquire about virtual classroom options ([email protected]). The distance learning page houses our full library of online resources.
Resources and Recycling
Grades 1-3. Students learn the origins of commonly recycled items such as paper, plastic and glass and explore how the three Rs help conserve resources and reduce waste.
InPESTigations / Bugged by Pesticides series
Grades 4-5. This two-part series begins with a game that promotes critical thinking and challenges students to decide for themselves what makes something a pest in their school or home environment. The second visit focuses on food chains, how pesticides move up the food web in our region and highlights natural gardening.
Composting with Worms
Grades K-5. Students discover the benefits of composting, nature’s way of recycling. A hands-on look at life in the worm bin engages students’ observation skills and creates excitement for reducing the amount of garbage sent to landfills.
