Metro is working to remove barriers that people with disabilities may experience when visiting Metro destinations, participating in Metro programs, weighing in on Metro policies and projects, and seeking Metro information online.
Accessibility for people with disabilities
If you need a communication aid, sign language interpreter or other modification, please call 503-797-1890 or TDD/TTY 503-797-1804 five business days in advance.
Metro generally provides aids and services upon request to persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in programs, services and activities. All Metro meetings are wheelchair accessible. Individuals with service animals are welcome at Metro facilities, even where pets are generally prohibited.
Facilities and program evaluations
The first step to removing barriers is evaluating the accessibility of facilities, standard and practices. The agency’s current focus is improvements to Metro parks, Metro Regional Center and Metro’s primary public website. This effort will meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and help fulfill Metro’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
