Community advisory group
Metro, in partnership with Centro Cultural, is forming a community advisory group that will represent diverse perspectives of potentially affected people and future customers.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the garbage and recycling system, share their thoughts about the proposed location (North Fourth Avenue and Holladay Street), and learn about how to engage with their local and regional government to impact decision-making.
After 2020, members may choose to join the broader community to inform the design, services and operations of the future transfer center.
During this first phase, Metro and Centro Cultural prioritized participation from local communities of color, youth aged 16-24, residents of Cornelius and Forest Grove, and existing customers of Metro transfer stations due to their proximity to the proposed location.
Due to COVID-19 impacts, meetings will take place through video chat until further notice. Metro is committed to supporting persons who may face challenges to access these types of meetings.
