Metro adopted the first Regional Transportations Systems and Operations Plan in 2010. Since 2010, transportation agencies in the region have increased their capabilities to make hundreds of signalized intersections safer and more responsive to the demands of transit, freight and congestion. Agencies have updated the Intelligent Transportation Systems Architecture for the region and invested in priority data networks available to all partner agencies. In partnership with ODOT, the region moved toward a future of connected vehicle traveler information. With more people than ever using the region’s transportation system and rapidly evolving technology, it is time to set the course for the next 10 years of transportation management and operations in greater Portland.
