Springtime in the garden. Ready to dig in?
- Pesticides that contain "metaldehyde" are toxic to people, pets and waterways.
- Activate soil with compost so plants grow faster than the pests can eat.
- Plant pest- and slug-resistant herbs, lavender, thyme, or plants like sedums.
- Protect veggie seedlings with copper foil. If you want to use slug bait, iron phosphate baits are the least toxic option.
