Metro South community advisory group
Diverse perspectives and voices make our regional government more socially just and equitable.
Metro, in partnership with Unite Oregon, have convened community members to advise on a new recycling and transfer center in Clackamas County. The group’s input will help Metro identify potential properties for the new facility. Members will have the opportunity to learn about the garbage and recycling system, share their opinions about opportunities and challenges, and learn about how to engage with their local and regional government.
Members of the group may choose to continue their participation to inform the design, services and operations of the new transfer station in 2021.
Priority audiences:
- people of color
- youth between 16-23
- people who live, work, worship or attend school within 5 miles of the existing Metro South transfer station
- current customers of Metro's transfer stations
