What is a custom field trip?
We want to support your group in enjoying our parks and natural areas. If you have looked at our standard field trip offerings, and want something a little different, let us work together to create a program for your group. From wetlands to uplands, insects to ecosystems, custom programs can be designed for participants who want a particular focus, or location, for their trip. Custom trips are also great for groups that have never visited Metro’s parks and natural areas and want to learn more about these beautiful places. Let us know what you are interested in.
Metro welcomes groups of all ages and abilities.
How to schedule a group program
To schedule a program at Metro park or natural area, contact the Nature Education Team at [email protected] or 503-220-2782.
- The program fee for up to 35 participants is $50, for 36 to 70 participants the fee is $100.
- We can offer fee waivers and transportation assistance funds to qualifying groups.
Can our group visit sites on our own?
Yes. If you would like to arrange your own group trip to a Metro park or natural area without a nature educator, you must obtain an education special use permit in advance. There is a $40 application fee. Schools and other non-fee-based groups may be exempt from paying usage fees.
