"I moved to Tigard in 1977 with my wife, Jackie, and our son, Chris. Tigard had good neighborhoods and great schools and provided us access to good jobs, farms and forests, rivers and streams and all the things that make Oregon such a great place. Chris was soon joined by brother Eric and later by foster brother Tim. Chris, Eric and Tim grew up in Tigard, going to Tigard schools and on to rewarding careers, and Chris and Eric still live here.
"My family’s story of one household with three people in 1977 growing to three households with 11 people in many ways mirrors the growth of Tigard and the region— because it's a great place. Growth crosses boundaries, just like the roads, bridges, parks, sewers, water, power and other public systems and structures that provide the foundation of our economy and our quality of life. I am honored to represent district 3 on the Metro Council and enjoy working to ensure District 3 and our entire metro region remain a great place to live, work and raise a family.
"One of my favorite things about being Mayor of Tigard was being available on Saturday mornings to chat with Tigard residents and hearing about the issues that most concerned them. As a Metro Councilor, I will make myself available to District 3 residents on Saturday mornings. If you are interested in meeting with me to discuss a topic of your choice, or to get to know me better, please contact me or my policy coordinator to schedule a Saturday morning chat at Primo Espresso at 15981 SW Hall Blvd. in Tigard."
