Transportation shapes our communities and our everyday lives. Access to reliable transit, safe biking and walking connections, and streets and highways where traffic flows allows us to reach our jobs, schools and families. It connects us to the goods and services we depend on and helps keep nature and recreation opportunities within reach.
From summer 2015 to fall 2018, Metro worked with local, regional and state partners and the public to update the region's shared vision and strategy for investing in the transportation system for the next 25 years.
On Dec. 6, 2018, the Metro Council adopted the 2018 Regional Transportation Plan.
What regional investments have been completed since 2014?
Of the 1256 projects listed in the 2014 Regional Transportation Plan, 132 have been built or will be completed by 2019, for a total of $3.15 billion invested in the greater Portland region's transportation system.
