In October 2017, the Metro Council adopted amendments to Metro code that establish licensing and inspection of facilities within the greater Portland area that receive source-separated recyclable materials as well as certain facilities that convert waste to energy or fuel.
Metro staff is proposing a set of administrative rules to implement the ordinances adopted by the Metro Council and guide the licensing and inspection of these types of facilities.
Those who cannot attend and participate in the public hearing may submit written comments to Metro by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, after which final administrative rules will be approved by, and implemented at the direction of, Metro’s chief operating officer.
