Metro Council wants to hear directly from the public about a supportive housing ballot measure they are considering for 2020.
Throughout 2019, the HereTogether coalition convened elected officials and housing and service providers throughout the region to identify a regional approach with a new funding stream to address homelessness with permanent supportive housing.
As a result of HereTogether’s work, Metro is considering referring a funding measure to the May ballot that would fund services, such as rent assistance and mental health and addiction services, across our region’s three counties. As part of this effort, the public is invited to comment at a special Metro Council hearing dedicated to testimony on this topic.
If you wish to provide verbal testimony, please plan to sign up in person at Metro between 5 and 6 p.m. on Feb. 13. Verbal testimony at the hearing will be limited to two minutes.
Written testimony of any length may be shared at the meeting or by email at [email protected]. Written comments received by 2 p.m. on Feb. 13 will be shared with the Metro Council prior to the meeting.
