Get help setting up or expanding your in-school recycling program. Plus, find out how to prevent waste and make more sustainable purchasing and operations choices.

Metro's Recycle at School program helps schools in the region set up or expand in-school recycling. You can also find out how to prevent waste school-wide and make more sustainable purchasing and operation choices.

The Recycle at School staff can help your school:

  • work together with custodians, teachers and principals to meet your goals
  • assess your waste to find out what your school is sending to the landfill and create an efficient recycling system that meets your unique needs
  • coordinate with your waste and recycling haulers
  • acquire appropriate collection bins for recycling
  • apply to become recognized as an Oregon Green School.

Additional resources

The Metro Recycle at School program also offers more specific resources depending upon your needs. This may include assisting your school in setting up a worm bin or connecting your school with specific resources available within your jurisdiction.
