http://www.photooftheyear.net/
Photo of the Year (POTY) began between close friends and a desire to showcase their travels and adventures. In 2002, photo submissions and online participation grew steadily. Modest award galas grew in size. Soon, sponsors were attracted to the idea. It became clear that POTY could benefit a great cause! In 2004, POTY teamed up with MESD Outdoor School to raise money for their outdoor education program. POTY has raised over $35,000 for Outdoor School in efforts to make sure all Portland youth get a chance to experience the great outdoors. POTY is run by a small group of volunteers. The award gala is held every year in January. Be on the lookout for announcements about how to submit your photos or to attend the event.
