Use Metro's interactive search tool to find a nearby food rescue agency that fits your needs. Enter your address and the types of food you have to donate and get maps, contact information and program details.

Note: Always call ahead to confirm operation hours and ensure that the organization can accept the food you wish to donate.

2. Select the types of food you want to donate.*

  • Bulk food items

    Items that come in volumes or portions larger than those ordinarily considered to be for immediate consumption and may need to be broken down into smaller proportions for distribution such as rice, beans, oatmeal, flour, etc.

  • Canned and packaged items

    Foods such as soups, stews, fruits, vegetables, tuna, peanut butter and sauces that are commercially canned or packaged, and boxed meals like pasta, rice, macaroni & cheese, etc.

  • Commercially baked goods

    Products such as breads, bagels, cakes, muffins, rolls, etc. that are prepared at a commercial baking establishment.

  • Dairy products and eggs

    Commercially packaged milk, cheeses, yogurt, ice cream, eggs and egg products, etc.

  • Dessert and sweets

    Products such as cakes, cupcakes, cookies, chocolate, candy that are prepared at a commercial establishment.

  • Fresh produce

    Any type of fruit or vegetable that is fresh (packaged or loose).

  • Frozen goods

    Any type of food item that is a commercially packaged frozen item such as peas, orange juice, ravioli, waffles, etc.

  • Leftover menu entrees and prepared items

    Any type of prepared entree such as grilled chicken, lasagna, pasta, salad, rice, or soup that has been prepared at a commercial food service establishment such as a restaurant, cafeteria, or catered event but has not been served or offered to the public.

  • Meats (USDA-inspected)

    Beef, poultry, pork, seafood, and processed items such as sausage or lunch meat that have undergone USDA inspection and approval.
