Meetings

The Metro Exposition and Recreation Commission holds regular meetings on the first Wednesday of the month starting at 12:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend any regular or special meeting of the commission, and public testimony is welcome at regular meetings. Go to the calendar

Meeting materials

The commission adopts policies and takes action by resolutions at its public meetings. The agenda lists proposed resolutions by title and other actions or information for consideration. The agenda and meeting packet are posted online on the Monday before a regular meeting. Minutes for regular meetings are posted after they are approved by the commission. View meeting materials

Appointment

Commissioners are appointed by the Metro Council upon recommendation from local area governments. The commission includes seven members representing the city of Portland (two), Metro (two), and one each for Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties. The commissioners serve four-year terms. Economic and fiscal impact reports

New analysis of the Oregon Convention Center, Portland Expo Center, Portland Center for the Performing Arts and Oregon Zoo concludes that the public investment in these regional facilities generates a healthy return. Combined, in FY 2011, the venues generated $613 million in regional spending, sustained 6,040 local jobs and produced $19 million in state and local taxes.
