The committee provided "on the ground" input and guidance to project staff and steering committee. The community advisory committee decided its final recommendations to the steering committee on Feb. 7, 2011.

The community advisory committee was charged with providing:
The committee membership was selected from over 50 applicants. Providing the widest possible representation, the committee includes seven representatives from the Portland South Waterfront and Johns Landing area, including two Johns Landing condo owners; five representatives from the unincorporated area between Portland and Lake Oswego, including three property owners along the Willamette Shore Line right of way; seven representatives from Lake Oswego, including each affected neighborhood and two downtown business owners; one representative from West Linn.
In addition to these geographic perspectives, many committee members also commute in the corridor by bike, auto and transit, including at least three who regularly commute by auto on Highway 43 and one who uses accessible transit.
