MCCI was established under Metro's home-rule charter to assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of Metro's citizen involvement program.
Metro is responsible for a wide variety of issues affecting local governments, residents, neighborhoods, businesses, civic organizations and overall quality of life. As a result, Metro takes care to include residents in its decisions and values their perspectives and decisions.
The Metro Committee for Citizen Involvement (MCCI) was established under Metro’s home-rule charter in 1992 to assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of Metro’s citizen involvement program and advise on how to best involve residents in regional planning activities.
Meetings
MCCI meets from 6 to 8 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. All meetings are open to the public; citizens interested in MCCI are encouraged to attend. Meetings and other related events are posted on Metro's online calendar. View the calendar
Metro has many other advisory committees that encourage citizen involvement and have citizen members. By becoming a member of MCCI or any of Metro’s advisory committees, you can learn more about and have an impact on how Metro works.
