Located on Sauvie Island, Howell Territorial Park is a great place for picnickers, bird watchers and history buffs.
Visit a piece of Oregon history on Sauvie Island. Within this 120-acre park, the region's natural and cultural history come together in one serene, pastoral setting.
Attractions include reservable picnic areas, a pioneer orchard, large natural wetlands and an authentically restored farmhouse built in the 1850s.

Directions
Take Highway 30 north past Linnton to the Sauvie Island Bridge. Cross the bridge, proceed north approximately 1 mile and turn right onto Howell Park Road.
Bike there
Use the bike lane on Highway 30 from Vaughn Street in Northwest Portland. Or from North Portland, use bike lanes on Willamette Boulevard and the sidewalk on the St. Johns Bridge to Highway 30. Go north past Linnton and cross the Sauvie Island Bridge. Continue north one mile and turn right onto Howell Park Road. Exercise caution on the bridge and island roads.

Access
The park is open to visitors from sunrise to sunset. Picnic areas are available for rental from noon to 5 p.m. on weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
